Rick ends up in a garrisoned version of post-apocalyptic Philadelphia. Michonne later learns of Rick’s survival and embarks on an arduous quest to reunite their family, including their children Judith (Kylie Fleming) and Rick “RJ” Grimes Jr. (Anthony Azure).

Showrunner promises an amazing reunion
the walking Dead In-universe Chief Content Officer Scott M. Gimple, who also serves as showrunner, has crafted this spin-off as an “amazing” tale of epic and maddening love, unfolding in a place never before seen on TWDU. Gimple explains the characters’ struggle to rediscover their identities and each other after a long separation. It promises not only an emotional reunion, but a resurrection of the formidable characters fans remember: Rick of ‘Red Machete’ fame and Michonne, the one who gave the Governor a run for his money.
“These are two people who have been separated for far too long. They have been whole other beings and have to find themselves again, let alone each other. We hope it turns out amazing. We see this amazing power couple, but we also see that Red Machete Rick. We see that Michonne is the one who I taught a thing or two to the governor. [The series] It kind of goes coast-to-coast in that way between the intimate and the epic and the crazy.”
This revelation is accompanied by a stern warning: interfering with the indomitable duo – Rick who exterminated the cannibal Terminus, and Michonne who decimated the Ruler, would be a grave mistake. The stage is set for an unforgettable saga of survival, love and reconnection. It is scheduled to premiere in 2024 on AMC and AMC+, The Walking Dead: Rick and Michonne It is sure to mark a new high for the franchise.
