Mexican actor Sergio Calderon Unfortunately he passed away. Reportedly, per Entertainment Weekly, Calderón passed away on Wednesday in a Los Angeles hospital while surrounded by his family. He was recently in the hospital while battling pneumonia, but Calderon’s rep says it’s not known if that was the cause of death. Calderón was 77 years old.
Calderón was a veteran actor with dozens of credits on the big and small screen. He is perhaps best known for his role in Captain Valenueva in Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s Endthe third installment of the programme Pirates of the Caribbean series. He would reprise his role by voicing the character in the video game adaptation. Calderón has been posting occasionally about the film on his Twitter account, sharing behind-the-scenes photos with co-stars like Johnny Depp and Keith Richards.
