Director Stephen Capley Jr. offered some game-changing endgame insights transformers picnic, Transformers: Rise of the Monsters. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the director revealed how the crowd-pleasing final moments turned out, with the idea developing from Caple Jr. Who wants to give the finale as much “weight” as possible.
So, first I got the script, and I started developing the Noah script [Anthony Ramos] story. If you remember from the movie, he was having trouble getting a job, and part of the reason was because of his military background. So, at the end of the movie, I thought it would be interesting for him to actually get a job and have his brother’s healthcare taken care of. But I wanted it to be a military organization and/or government, and in doing so, the idea of Sector Seven and these other operations didn’t have enough weight.”
Now, final spoiler Warning: end Transformers: Rise of the Monsters Noah Diaz sees Anthony Ramos invited to join a secret government organization, GI Joe. Its a crossover moment that many fans have been waiting for for some time. The flashback moment came when Capley Jr. mentioned a comic book from the 1980s, je joe and transformersand soon caught the attention of producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura.
“I saw the sparkle in Lorenzo’s eyes. He was so excited about it. That could be crazy,” he said. This is good. I dig this. He’d heard of it before, but never tried it. And he was like, ‘Maybe don’t show it to the studio. Maybe you just type it into the text and go to it. Let them read your draft of the film and see how they react.” And that’s what we did.
Transformers: Rise of Monsters paves the way for even greater things
While everyone else was on board with Caple Jr.’s plans. To tease the crossover, it took nearly two years before all the pieces fell into place. As the manager explains it…
“I had to talk to all the producers and tell them the vision or the direction I was going in. I didn’t know all of that at the time I first pitched it or when they first read it, but throughout the process of making this movie, it started getting deeper and deeper. So I knew. It was a bit more about the direction I wanted to go with the Joes, but the studio was on board from the start. It just took a while to get all the parties involved and settled.”
But it sure seems worth the wait, as Caple Jr. Now to use this last minute to develop and expand transformers An unprecedented privilege.
“Transformers movies have scope and scale, but we spend a lot of time here on Earth, so I think there’s more out there. Even in the Transformers graphic novels, there are other planets and things like that, and I was like, ‘We’re just thinking very small. So if we’re going to do the movie Eight, Nine and Ten, maybe there’s a way to make all of this a little more broad and branching out.”
The director has already started this expansion with Transformers: Rise of the Monsters, which found Optimus Prime and the Autobots team up with a powerful faction of Transformers known as the Maximals to save Earth. Will we see an expanded Hasbro Cinematic Universe?
