Netflix has officially announced its latest 2D animated series titled Gentry Zhao vs Underworld, which is descended from longtime collaborator Ali Wong. Wong will also lead her as she portrays the titular role of Asian-American teen Gentry Chow who uses her superhuman abilities to fight monsters.

Gentry Zhao vs Underworld It will also display the voices of Puen Yang (Saturday Night Live), Laurie Tan Chen (Awkwafina is Nora from Queens), Lucy Liu (Kung Fu Panda Movies), Jimmy O. yang (Crazy Rich Asians), Sheng Wang (humorist) and Woosung Kim of South Korean rock band The Rose.

“The series follows Jentry Chau, a Chinese-American teen living in small-town Texas, who discovers that she is being stalked by a demon king in search of the supernatural forces she has been working her whole life to suppress,” the leadline reads. With the help of her weapons-savvy aunt and a millennia-old jiangxi (a traveling Chinese vampire), Jentry must now battle monsters in an entire underworld while balancing the horrors of high school.

The series is created and executive produced by Echo Wu. Produced by Wong, Aron Eli Coleite, Chris Prynoski, Shannon Prynoski, Antonio Canobbio, and Ben Kalina, with Titmouse as the animation studio.

Before landing the upcoming series, Wong had previously lent her voice to a number of shows including BoJack HorsemanAnd Tuca and BertieAnd big mouthAnd HRAnd movies like Ralph breaks the internet And Angry Birds Movie. The comedian will next appear in another Netflix project in the form of A24’s meat Series with Oscar nominee Stephen Yeun.
