
Horror sequel I still know what you did last summer It is being re-released in honor of its 25th anniversary this year. From Sony Pictures Home Entertainment, the remake will make the movie available for the first time in 4K Ultra HD, allowing horror fans to see the movie in a way that makes it look better than ever. It is scheduled for release on September 26, 2023, and will also be available on Blu-ray for those not looking for a 4K UHD release.
Written by Trey Callaway and directed by Danny Cannon, I still know what you did last summer It was originally released to theaters in November 1998. The film was produced by Neil H. Moritz, Eric Feige, Stockley Chaffin, and William S. Paisley. It stars Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Brandy, Mekhi Phifer, Moses Watson, Bill Cobbs, and Matthew Settle.
The official synopsis of the film is as follows:
Jennifer Love Hewitt, Freddie Prinze Jr., Brandy, and Mekhi Pfeiffer star in the screaming sequel to the bloody box office hit I Know What You Did Last Summer. Remember Ben Willis? It’s the poacher who killed the boy who was driving the car when it ran off the road in the fatal accident that killed his daughter Sarah… Well, he’s back. It’s hard to forget the man who refused to die.
Of course, the new version will come with additional features for fans to enjoy. The 4K Ultra HD release will include the feature film scanned from the original camera negative and rendered in 4K with Dolby Vision, as approved by director Danny Cannon. Also included is an all-new director’s commentary from Canon with the featurette “He Still Knows What You Did: An Interview with Moses Watson.” The Blu-ray will also come with featured work, the “How Do I Deal” music video by Jennifer Love Hewitt, and the theatrical trailer.
The movie was a direct sequel to 1997’s I know what you did last summerwritten by Scream Written by Kevin Williamson and directed by Jim Gillespie. That original story was also given a third installment, concluding as a third with 2006 I will always know what you did last summer, although this film did not bring back any stars from the first two films. In the meantime, that story has yet to be revisited, so there’s another I know what you did last summer A movie in the works that will reportedly bring back Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. Also of note, an unconnected TV series adaptation debuted on Prime Video in 2021, but was canceled after one season.
