Bruce Lee, portrayed by Mike Moe, was seen as an arrogant actor on the set who was later beaten by Brad Pitt’s character Cliff Booth. Just like Elaine, Shannon wasn’t happy after watching the movie. The film portrayed Lee as arrogant, which angered Shannon. As reported by IndieWire, Shannon said,

“I tried to approach him from a cool, collected, calm, direct point of view, and was very disappointed to see Quentin Tarantino’s response, which was to keep saying, ‘Oh, Bruce Lee was such a snob, he was an idiot,’ and to incorrectly cite my mother’s book in defense,” Shannon said. I just really thought it was irresponsible of him to do what he did and have that portrayal.”

Shannon believes there are different ways to make Brad Pitt’s character in the movie look creatively cool, and it’s insulting that she made her father look bad in the process. she added,

“There were so many other creative ways he could have made Cliff Booth’s character look great in this movie. So many other ways he could have treated Bruce Lee’s character that would have had the same plot point without having to treat Basically Bruce Lee the way white Hollywood treated my father when he was alive.”
