Reaching 200 million books worldwide is a major milestone of which I am very proud, and I want to thank all of our local program partners, funders, and supporters from the bottom of my heart. But we We’re hot, and we’ve got so much to do! Together, we can inspire more kids to dream more, learn more, care more, and be more.”
Dolly Parton’s fantasy library reaches a major milestone
Parton was inspired to launch the program by her father’s inability to read or write. It initially launched in her hometown of Sevier County, Tennessee, before eventually expanding to five countries. The program is open to all children under the age of five who reside in areas served by the Imagination Library, and there will be no fee whatsoever for any families with children.
“Time to celebrate another mile stone from my fantasy library,” Parton says in a new video announcing the news. “The most amazing thing is that just five years ago we celebrated 100 million books. I can barely keep up!”
She added, “But, seriously, I want to thank everyone who has supported my fantasy library over the years. Right now, we’re still dreaming big, and I’m so happy that the fantasy library is reaching so many kids, I know my dad would be proud.”
To receive the potential book in September that may include a special Dolly bookmark, children will need to be enrolled in the program by July 31, 2023. You can learn more about the Dolly Parton Imagination Library by visiting the official website.
