next batch of Ghostbusters Movie series in the works. In a new interview with ScreenRant, the star of the franchise Ernie Hudson Talk about the current situation to Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2. He maintains that filming has since been completed. Hudson then warns of rumors he’s heard that the sequel might be delayed until the spring of next year, likely due to potential WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes. As Hudson tells ScreenRant:

“Yeah, we’re done, the movie’s done, it’s wrapped. Obviously, they’re adjusting and doing whatever else. I’ve been hearing rumors at the end of the year that they’re going to push for it, or maybe spring next year. I never know how the studios are going to do everything they do, but it’s been done.” Filming, and that was a little tricky with the writers striking and everything going on. Ghostbusters: Afterlife 2 returns to New York

Hudson’s Winston Zeddemore is expected to have a much larger presence at the Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel. Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Annie Potts are also expected to appear in the film, though Sigourney Weaver revealed that she will not be returning as Dana for this installment. hereafter Stars Carrie Coon, Finn Wolfhard, McKenna Grace, and Paul Rudd also return, while newcomers to the cast are Patton Oswalt, Kumail Nanjiani, and Emily Alyn Lind.

In a previous interview with The Illuminerdi, Hudson teased his fruitful involvement in the film. It explains how Winston leads the Ghostbusters back to the old firehouse in New York where it all began. Hudson explained:

Winston has gone on to, you know, become very successful and he attributes a lot of that to his time on Ghostbuster. But he’s embracing it and taking part of his fortune to take Ghostbusting to the next level and it’s great to see he’s now. You know he’s not just being, ‘I just need To a job, you guys are crazy but hey… I’m signed up for it now I’m in it.”

Reportedly, the plan was to Ghostbusters: Afterlife The sequel hits theaters in December, but as Hudson warned, it may end up being released at a later date. Anyway, the current release date as announced by Sony is December 20, 2023. We will soon find out if there are many delays.
